Identity/Memory Virtual Gallery London 2015
Producing a Sketchup and video simulation of the “Dream Gallery”
Assisting on the space planning of the exhibition
I was asked for creating a « Dream Gallery » for the project IDENTITY/MEMORY, an exhibition from the currator student Gabriela Davies. I/M gathers works from 27 young artists from all around the world.
Here is the proposal of Gabriela Davies:
« Who are you? What is it that you love or do that defines you? What are your beliefs? What do you want to hide? What makes you angry? What is your identity?
There is a moment of growing up when you believe that determining your identity is important. Yet, it is probably one of the hardest parameters we define in our lives, because of its ever changing nature. »
On the other hand, memories are situations we have lived through, or imagined living. Memories are the biggest influential factors in the shaping of our identities. What did you learn to let go of? What do you keep?»
The idea was to create an ephemeral and itinerant gallery inside old containers. The visitor is virtually entering into the « Dream Gallery » and discovering the artists work. From this video, Gabriela made a crowfounding to gather the necessary found to make the « Dream Gallery » real !
After that, she asked me to assist her on the space organization for the exhibition in the « Frameless gallery, in London.
